These Terms govern use of Kinello, a private, invitation-only family app. Contact: support@kinello.net.

Eligibility

A Kinello login account is for a person age 13 or older who can agree to these Terms. An adult may create a family-tree profile for a younger child, elder, or deceased relative, but that profile does not receive login access. Do not create an account if the account holder is under 13.

Private family use

Use Kinello only for a private family group and only invite people authorized to see the group's content. Account holders are responsible for their credentials, their device, content they add, and audience or sharing choices they make. Family administrators should approve only people they recognize.

Health and safety

Kinello is a general wellness and family-organization tool. Step totals, summaries, AI responses, weather, flight links, and notifications may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Kinello does not provide medical, legal, financial, emergency, travel-safety, or professional advice. Do not use Kinello to contact emergency services or make urgent health or safety decisions.

Content and permissions

Account holders keep ownership of content they add. They give Kinello a limited permission to host, process, resize, display, and transmit that content only as needed to operate the selected family features. An account holder must have permission to add another person's photo, personal details, location, or family history and must respect that person's privacy and applicable law.

Deleting an account removes account-owned private content and uploads. Shared family records may be transferred to another family member so the family's shared history is not unintentionally destroyed, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

Family photo storage

The Free family allowance is 1 GB and the Plus family allowance is 20 GB. If Plus ends while the family is above 1 GB, existing media remains readable and downloadable, but new uploads pause. Kinello provides a 90-day grace period with notices in the Activity feed and push attempts for members who enabled push. If the family remains over the Free allowance at the deadline, Kinello removes only the oldest excess media needed to return to 1 GB, preserving family records and preferring content photos before profile, person, or pet photos. Renewing Plus or reducing usage before cleanup cancels scheduled removal. Members are responsible for downloading media they want to retain before the stated deadline.

Acceptable use

Do not use Kinello to break the law; harass, exploit, or impersonate anyone; upload malicious code or unlawful content; bypass invitations, consent, or access controls; probe another family's data; automate abusive traffic; or interfere with the service. Kinello may suspend access needed to protect members or the service.

Third-party and AI services

Kinello depends on platform and service providers such as Apple, Google, Supabase, Expo, Open-Meteo, and an outside AI provider. Their availability and separate terms may affect features.

Answers to explicit `@Kinello` mentions in the shared family chat, recipe imports, and the weekly family newsletter are written by one of Kinello's approved AI systems. Production Kinello may use Kinello's own self-hosted NVIDIA DGX Spark, OpenAI, or Anthropic, as described in the Privacy Policy. Adding another production provider requires an updated Privacy Policy before family information is sent there. AI output is generated and can be wrong. Review any proposed action before relying on it.

Service changes and account termination

Kinello may fix, change, limit, or discontinue features, including beta features, to improve security or reliability or meet legal requirements. An account holder may stop using Kinello and delete the account in Account settings. Kinello may terminate access for material misuse, security risk, or legal necessity.

Disclaimers and liability

Kinello is provided on an "as available" basis to the extent allowed by law. Kinello does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, perfect accuracy, preservation of every family record, or compatibility with every device or third-party service. To the extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of Kinello. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Governing rules and changes

Applicable law and mandatory consumer protections govern these Terms. Before filing a non-urgent dispute, contact support@kinello.net so the issue can be reviewed. Kinello will update the effective date when these Terms change and will request acceptance of a new version when the change is material.
